Helen Marie Counselling
A safe, supportive space to explore, heal and grow.
Helen Marie
Counsellor MBACP

Hello, I’m Helen, a qualified Humanistic Existential Counsellor with over 10 years of experience supporting people through a wide range of challenges and life experiences.
I believe that each person is unique, and that there is no single way of understanding what it means to be human. Our experiences, relationships, beliefs and the way we see the world all shape who we are and how we experience life.
My Humanistic Existential approach allows us to explore you as an individual — your experiences, your thoughts and feelings, the meaning you make of your life, and how you understand yourself and the world around you. Together, we can gently explore what may be happening for you now, and begin to understand how your past experiences and present circumstances have shaped where you are today.
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are. Counselling is an opportunity to slow down, reflect and explore the things that may feel difficult to make sense of on your own.
There is no expectation that you have all the answers. We work together, at your pace, to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and explore what may help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.
If you feel ready to take that first step, I’m here to listen.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you are unsure what to expect or how to begin.

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision, and building a relationship where you feel safe, heard and understood is an important part of the process. Everyone’s experiences and needs are different, and it is essential to find someone you feel comfortable working with, at a pace that feels right for you.

To help you decide whether we may be a good fit, I offer a complimentary 15-minute telephone consultation. This is an opportunity for us to have an informal conversation, discuss what you might be looking for from counselling, and give you the chance to ask any questions you may have. There is no expectation or obligation to continue beyond this initial conversation.

If you would like to get in touch, you are welcome to contact me in whichever way feels easiest and most comfortable for you. I understand that reaching out can be a big step, and I will approach your enquiry with care, understanding and without judgement.
